Sai friend Natajan Subramaniam

Saincidence
-----------------

Just 15 days after moving to Boston in 1990. I was looking to get connected to Sai Center There was no FB, Whatsapp and and not many internet providers. So on a Saturday I picked up local telephone directory(white pages) and found one "Natarajan" living close by. Thinking I am calling this Natajan I mis-dialled and it went to "Subramanyam Natarajan living far away than closer. What a Coincidence, He answered "Natarajan Speaking" and so I did not realize my mistake. I just introduced myself and my family and expressed a desire to meet him. He said that he would come very soon and meet me. I was under the impression that he lives close to us. He drove 40 miles just to meet us on the very same day. After intial introductions, he saw Sri Sathya Sai Baba's photo and asked why I did not mention this when I talked to him over Phone. I told him I was a trying to reach a Natarajan in my locality but ended up dialing a Natarajan faraway and a Sai devotee. Also told him being Sai devotee need not be publicised. So it turned out to be not a coincidence but Saincidence. Thats how our friendship with Natarajan started in 1990.I was fortunate to attend his Shatiabdhapoorthi(1992) as well as Sathabhishekam(2012). Natarajan always had a very positive outloook in life, even after his wife passed away in 80s. He was a practical Sai devotee and always followed "Love all Serve All. Help Ever and Hurt Never". He was always smiling, jovial and happy amd made others happy. He was friend , Philosoper and guide. Incidentally I found out that we had a relationship him as Professor and student, during my Engineering college days in coimbatore. Natarajan was teaching mathematics. Natajan took us to Westford and Somerville Centers of Boston. Swami's way of getting us nearer to him.

In 1992, Natajan moved to Chennai to be with his mom and brothers and stayed in Chennai and Coimbatore over the years. Every year he used to visit USA not only to see his immediate family and many of his friends spread far and wide of USA. I had the fortune of meeting his India or USA almost every year till 2017. He used to correpond through emails and Chats. We had the fortune of hosting him in Chicago a few times. Today I heard from Raji venkatraman that Subramanyam has passed away this December. Me and Vasantha truly miss him. Attaching some nice memories of Natajan from his 80th Birthday celebrations.

Natajan was a great instrument of Swami to get connected to Sai Samithi in Boston. May Swami Bless his soul and take him in His fold.

Natarajan's favorite Bhajan that he used to render was " Rasa Vilola Nandalala Radha Madhava Nandalala
